CureDuchenne is a national nonprofit raising awareness and funds to cure Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Paul and Debra Miller founded the organization in 2003 after their son, Hawken, was diagnosed with Duchenne. Since then, the organization has funded numerous scientific projects to fast-track research and new treatments for Duchenne, while advocating for the community with education and support programs.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a degenerative neuromuscular disease that is 100% fatal. It is the most common and severe form of muscular dystrophy, affecting roughly 1 in 5,000 male births.

Tim and Laura Revell learned their two sons, Timothy and Andrew, were diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, at just two and five years old. At the time of their boys’ diagnoses, treatments and information on Duchenne were limited. The Revells began researching the rare disease and connected with CureDuchenne for resources. Tim and Laura have created several annual fundraising events to raise awareness and funds for CureDuchenne, including marathons, galas and the annual ladies luncheon.
